Gracey Private School recently showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba Kingdoms through an outstanding display of kingship, where pupils represented the revered monarchs of four great states.
The event featured the showcase of iconic royal representation of:
👑 The Ooni of Ife – Custodian of Yoruba tradition and the spiritual head of the Yoruba race.
👑 The Alaafin of Oyo – Symbol of power, authority, and political influence in Yoruba land.
👑 The Awujale of Ijebu Land – A prominent monarch known for wisdom, leadership, and cultural preservation.
👑 The Oba of Ekiti – Representing the pride, unity, and rich heritage of Ekiti people.
Each child graced the stage in full traditional regalia, adorned with crowns, coral beads, and flowing garments that captured the essence of Yoruba royalty. It was more than just a display – it was a living history lesson that brought culture, pride, and identity to life.
The kingship presentation not only entertained but also educated, reminding us of the deep values, respect, and honor embedded in Yoruba traditions.

Learning goes beyond the classroom walls. it’s colourful, engaging, and filled with joy! This month, our pupils had an exciting experience during their colour lesson themed around the colour black.
The activity was part of our early years curriculum designed to help children recognize and relate with colours in their everyday environment. The little ones came dressed in stylish black outfits and participated in interactive games, group discussions, and outdoor learning focused on identifying objects in black.
It was beautiful to watch them confidently express what they observed, share their thoughts, and even sing colour songs. Their enthusiasm lit up the day, and the smiles on their faces said it all — learning can be so much fun! 😊
