During Circle Time, our learners develop essential life skills that will benefit them both in and beyond the classroom.

They learn to: Listen attentively while others are speaking. Wait patiently for their turn. Express their thoughts with confidence. Respect different opinions and ideas. Build meaningful friendships through positive interactions. Circle Time creates a safe and welcoming environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. It encourages communication, critical thinking, emotional awareness, and self-confidence; skills that are just as important as literacy and numeracy.

Building Strong Numeracy Skills Through Hands-On Learning

        At Gracey Private School, we believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. Our Early Years learners recently took part in a fun and engaging number-matching activity designed to strengthen their understanding of numbers. Using colourful apple cards, the children matched number words such as two, three, and four with the correct quantity of dots. This interactive exercise helped them connect number names with their values while developing counting, observation, and problem-solving skills. Beyond learning to count, activities like these encourage: Number recognition and vocabulary development, One-to-one correspondence, Critical thinking and concentration, Fine motor coordination, Confidence in early mathematics by making learning practical and enjoyable, we lay a solid foundation for future mathematical success.

Using colourful number pieces and counting materials, the children enthusiastically matched numbers, counted objects, and strengthened their number recognition skills. Every smile, every correct answer, and every moment of discovery reflected growing confidence and a genuine love for learning.
