Sorting Activity: Practical Life Skills in Action

We integrate Practical Life Activities into our daily learning to nurture well-rounded development in our young learners. In this activity, the children engaged in a sorting exercise, carefully separating grains of rice, garri and beans.

Beyond being an enjoyable task, this exercise serves multiple developmental purposes:

Eye-Hand Coordination: Refining the ability to control hand movements with visual input.

Concentration: Encouraging sustained attention and focus on a single task.

Fine Motor Skills Development: Strengthening the small muscles of the hands and fingers, essential for writing and other daily activities.

Through activities like these, our Montessori-based approach ensures that children build a solid foundation for academic success while also acquiring practical life skills that will serve them well in their daily lives.
